Antebellum/Southern
Colonial - a six acre estate reminiscent of the days
of "Gone With The Wind" at Tara. The sweeping
lawn is flanked on either side by a line of magnolias
and a circular driveway just perfect for horse drawn
carriages. The Front verandah showcasing six Doric columns
is wide enough for mint juleps, guest seating, and promenade.
As you enter the foyer, you can see all the way to the
back terrace through the central hall. Parlors and formal
salons are on either side of the grand staircase, opening
to both formal and family dining rooms, the gallery
kitchen and sun porch most of which have fireplaces
and ornamental waterfalls. The two story formal salon
is topped by a three sided gallery library that opens
to the upstairs parlor and hidden staircase to the finished
attic and cupola. Please make yourselves at home in
the cupola to look out across the magnificent Georgia
countryside. Completely encircling the back of the house
are terraces and covered patios that step down to the
lush lawns rolling to the swimming pool, bath house
and picnic areas. The formal gardens are complimented
by the "Doll House", which is a miniature
replica of the "Big House". One of the best
kept secrets of he South, Windy Hill is a stones throw
from downtown and the airport.
No
smoking inside.
